Hello my name is Paul and I am lucky enough to live in the stunning French Pyrenees.
Cycling has been my passion for over 25 years. I have competed on both MTB and road bikes as well as enjoying challenging sportive events.
Before I moved from Devon in the UK, I enjoyed years of involvement with my local cycle club, planning and guiding group rides .
Firstly I believe group rides should be fun and memorable, but I also appreciate the importance of pre-planning each ride to ensure safety .
I also hold certificates both as a cycle tour leader and an outdoor first aider.
"Great location, great hospitality!
We stayed there in March for a few days cycling and stayed in the Gurt Yurt which was perfect especially with the woodburner for the evening. Paul and Jill are great hosts and looked after us very well with some superb meals, and Paul guiding us around the local roads. I couldn't believe what good condition the roads were in and also how little traffic too. The location is fantastic with beautiful countryside all around and the Pyrenees close by. We cycled locally (still a bit of snow in the high mountains) and there was a good mix of flat and hills, but I'm sure that the high passes of the Pyrenees would be fantastic.
In summary I cannot recommend Fly Velo Pyrenees highly enough!"
"As a cycling nut, I'm always looking for new and amazing locations to cycle, so a friend and I decided to book in with Paul & Jill in March for a little pre-season training.
Wow! It's a superb location as a cycling base and within easy reach of the Pyrenees. What I didn't expect however was just how smooth and quiet the local roads were - as a cyclist, you can't really ask for more!
The Yurts were really well equipped, Paul was an excellent guide throughout our stay and Jill's cakes were absolutely legendary. Thanks for making us feel so welcome!
In fact, I've booked another short break at Frog Lake Yurts in August this year, where we will be riding the Marmotte Pyrenees Gran Fondo. Col du Tourmalet, here we come!”
"Paul was very happy to share his knowledge of the many cycling opportunities inthe area, both the local rolling countryside and the well known climbs of the Pyrenees" Ian, UK
